Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and the training required to overcome recognized obstacles hindering the acquisition, sharing, analysis, and utilization of high-quality data are indispensable for mitigating the prevailing disparities encountered by healthcare research teams operating in LMICs. Facilitating the creation of AI tools, e-Learning programs, and resources to cultivate AI proficiency is of paramount importance.
In a collaborative effort, we will collectively identify, through consensus building and employing an evidence-driven approach utilizing surveys, the fundamental AI skills crucial to healthcare data. A comprehensive AI curriculum can be fashioned around these agreed-upon themes. We will identify, create, or repurpose resources, tools, and training materials, taking into consideration existing resources and proven-effective methodologies.
It is worth noting that this initiative is still in its early stages. A comprehensive survey, akin to landscaping, will soon be at your disposal to assess the current landscape of AI capacity-building initiatives and resources. Stay tuned for updates!
