During this workshop, IDRC Senior Program Specialist Chaitali Sinha will join Cintia Cejas from the Center for Implementation and Innovation in Health Policies (Argentina), Noor Rakhshani from Precision Health Consultants (Pakistan), and Elizabeth Oseku from the Infectious Diseases Institute (Uganda) to co-moderate a panel showcasing the following projects:

 

  • An innovation hub in Latin America and the Caribbean that uses artificial intelligence to improve sexual, reproductive, and maternal health, presented by Adolfo Rubenstein from the Center for Implementation and Innovation in Health Policies, Argentina.
  • The advancement of sexual, reproductive, and maternal health in South Asia through artificial intelligence, with representatives from Mohammed Imran, Precision Health Consultants (PHC), Pakistan.
  • An innovation hub in the Middle East and North Africa focused on utilizing artificial intelligence for sexual, reproductive, and maternal health, represented by Nadine Sabra from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
  • An innovation hub in Africa for applying artificial intelligence in sexual, reproductive, and maternal health, presented by Elizabeth Oseku.
  • Efforts to promote responsible AI for global health, represented by Peiling Yap, HealthAI, Switzerland.
  • Maximizing artificial intelligence's contribution to global health through knowledge sharing and translation with Salvia Zeeshan from The Global Health Network in the UK.
  • Applying artificial intelligence to enhance epidemic and pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response, led by Jude Kong from the University of Toronto, Canada.

The goal is to showcase and examine the progress and challenges faced by low- and middle-income countries in AI research and its application in health, reflecting on real cases alongside current initiatives supported by the AI for Global Health (AI4GH) initiative.
